Why consider group therapy?
We live our lives in groups – whether it is with family, friends, co-workers, life-partner or spouse. Whe we are disconnected from groups, we can feel a deep longing to to be part of something. When we go through emotional issues or pain, the relationship we have can become disconnected and create more emotional pain and alienation. Group therapy is a fantastic environment where you can develop your capacity to interaction, connect, learn, work, play and give to others.
What does group therapy offer?
The group experience offers people an opportunity to work as a team with others to learn new skills that will help to live life much more fully. The group creates a richer environment to develop our ability to connect, interact, learn to listen, and give thereby creating a richer environment for people to develop and evolve into who they can become.
How does group therapy work?
As the group grows, the individual grows. We come away with a deeper awareness of self and others, or who we are in relationship to others, what our strengths and challenges are. You have an opportunity to try out new emotional responses, learn to see from multiple perspectives, create new ways to communicate and be close to others, and find ways to deal productively with very intense emotions. You develop emotional strengths and improve skills to build healthy relationships. We can learn to be leaders in creating the very environment needed to grow and develop, and to actively build supportive environments in their everyday lives.
Many people who have experienced our group therapy talk about it as having had a profound impact on their emotional pain, making it possible to live richer and more fulfilling lives.
